SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Trimble has unveiled the 2025 versions of Tekla Structural Designer and Tekla Tedds, enhancing connected workflows, streamlining analysis and design processes, and introducing AI-powered support tools to elevate structural engineering productivity.

The latest versions—Tekla Structural Designer 2025 and Tekla Tedds 2025—are designed to support multi-material building analysis and documentation through tight integrations with key platforms such as Trimble SketchUp, Autodesk Revit, and Tekla Structures, enabling structural engineers to work more collaboratively, efficiently, and accurately.

“The enhancements in the 2025 versions of Tekla Structural Designer and Tekla Tedds streamline the design process by bridging the worlds of architecture and engineering,” said David Sanderson, Product Manager at Trimble. “They support teamwork around shared design data while ensuring maximum productivity.”

Connected Workflows Across the AEC Ecosystem

Trimble continues to strengthen its position as a leader in connected construction with a focus on seamless collaboration:

  • SketchUp to Structural Designer: SketchUp models can now be used as reference models within Tekla Structural Designer, enhancing the architect-to-engineer workflow.
  • Improved Revit Integration: The Tekla Structural Designer Integrator for Revit 2025 now includes enhanced connectivity rules, new profile families for UK and US markets, and improved analytical model generation, supporting smooth bidirectional model exchanges.
  • Design-to-Detail Workflows: Engineers and BIM modelers can now better coordinate through updated links between Tekla Structures and Tekla Structural Designer, reducing design errors and ensuring consistency from analysis to detailing.

Tekla Structures and Tekla Structural Designer,

The 2025 release focuses on delivering smarter tools to tackle modern engineering challenges:

  • User-Defined Attributes (UDA): Easier mapping of UDAs, including fire condition design values, reflects the growing emphasis on fire safety in structural engineering.
  • IDEA StatiCa Integration: Enhanced link with IDEA StatiCa simplifies connection design, promoting a streamlined, detailed workflow within the Tekla ecosystem.
  • Podium Structures & Masonry Enhancements: Targeting the North American market, updates include advanced support for masonry wall design using finite element methods, edge release options, and improved reinforcement handling.

Introducing the AI-Powered Trimble Assistant for Tekla

In a major usability upgrade, Trimble also launched the Trimble Assistant for Tekla, an AI-powered web app available via Tekla User Assistance. This smart assistant provides instant, precise answers to user queries across the full Tekla product suite—including Tekla Structures, Tekla Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer, and Tekla PowerFab—by drawing from an extensive knowledge base.
