The Nemetschek Group, a global leader in AEC/O software solutions, has announced a strategic investment in Handoff, a US-based technology company leveraging artificial intelligence to streamline core operations for contractors in the residential construction sector.
Founded in 2019, Handoff is transforming how builders estimate projects, manage proposals, invoice clients, and handle back-office tasks. With over 10,000 monthly active users and $6 billion in annualized project volume, Handoff automates workflows using real-time supplier pricing data to generate accurate estimates quickly, without complex onboarding or setup.
“Our mission is to put real-time construction data and smart AI agents in the hands of contractors,” said Dmitry Alexin, Founder and CEO of Handoff. “Partnering with Nemetschek validates our vision and will help us scale faster, reach more builders, and improve how homes are built.”
This investment will accelerate Handoff’s product development, expand its feature set, and fuel international expansion. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Handoff also operates from offices in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is backed by a team with experience from top technology firms including Apple, Tesla, and WeWork.
“Handoff is bringing powerful AI to a segment long underserved by traditional software,” said Tanja Kufner, Head of Startups & Venture Investments at Nemetschek Group. “We’re excited to support their growth and help drive digital efficiency across residential construction.”
The investment aligns with Nemetschek Group’s broader venture strategy to accelerate innovation and digital transformation, especially for small and medium-sized construction businesses. It builds on Nemetschek’s commitment to AI-first development, sustainability, and openBIM principles across its global portfolio of brands.
Founded by Professor Georg Nemetschek in 1963, the Nemetschek Group is a pioneer in digital transformation for the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations (AEC/O) industry.
