Program Structure

The programme is delivered in two connected stages that take you from engineering design principles through to coordinated BIM delivery.

  • AutoCAD — interface, drawing and modify tools, layers, annotations & dimensions, blocks, layouts, title blocks and shop drawings
  • HVAC — design fundamentals, cooling & heating load calculation (manual and HAP), ventilation system design, equipment selection, air distribution & chilled water system design, HVAC controls, installation, drawings and commissioning
  • Plumbing — plumbing design fundamentals, water supply system design, sanitary drainage design, storm water drainage design, plumbing drawings and coordination
  • Fire Fighting — fire protection fundamentals and NFPA codes, fire detection & alarm systems, fire fighting systems, fire suppression systems, fire protection drawings

  • Autodesk Revit — project setup, worksharing, drawing & editing tools, detailing, annotation & documentation, sheet creation, spaces & zones
  • Revit Mechanical (HVAC) — mechanical settings, equipment & air terminals, duct and pipe modeling, routing preferences, system classification and filters, HVAC BIM advanced workflows
  • Revit Plumbing — plumbing fixtures, pipe modeling and types, insulation, domestic water, drainage, vent and storm water systems
  • Revit Fire Protection — sprinkler types, fire pipe systems, risers, wet & dry systems, pump room, sprinkler layout
  • Revit Families & Schedules — family templates and categories, parameters and constraints, MEP connectors, equipment families, MEP schedules and quantities
  • Navisworks Manage — coordination model setup, NWC/NWD workflows, federated models, visualization and walkthroughs, clash detection and BIM coordination
  • Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) — document management, model coordination & review, issue tracking, real project collaboration workflows

Project Work

You work across both a commercial mechanical design project and a set of international mechanical BIM projects, so your portfolio shows the full journey from design calculations to a coordinated, construction-ready model.

  • Design Capstone — Real Commercial Building HVAC, plumbing and fire fighting design with full design calculations, AutoCAD drawings and project documentation.
  • International Mechanical BIM Projects Commercial HVAC, residential plumbing and fire protection BIM models developed to LOD 300, finishing with an integrated multidisciplinary coordination project.
